Ross Blakeman, owner of Rosebud & Co., spoke to the class today about his floral business. Ross told the class about growing up helping his grandmother in her floral shop and how much he loved it.

After graduating from MacMurray College with a degree in business, he began working for a chemical company in Champaign…and hated it. After losing his father to cancer, Ross decided he didn’t want to spend his life doing something that didn’t make him happy. So he left his job at the chemical company and opened his own floral shop.

Now in remission from cancer himself, Ross finds the beauty in everyday life and he encouraged the students to do the same.

Thank you, Ross, for your time and for your enthusiasm. Your story is truly inspiring.
