Last Tuesday, the class had their first guest speaker. Illinois Electric General Manager, Randy Long, spoke to the students about Illinois Electric and why Illinois Electric invests in the CEO program. He told them the development of soft skills such as social skills, communication skills, social intelligence and positive attitudes will open many doors for them.

Randy also told the students about his 41 year tenure at Illinois Electric. He told them the story of how he washed trucks for Illinois Electric as a grade schooler and never dreamed he would someday be at the helm of such a fine organization.

Randy encouraged the students to set goals and to be happy working towards those goals, not just when they achieve them. He told them to always be the best that they can be and to enjoy the journey.

Thank you to Randy and to Illinois Electric for making the CEO program possible. Your investment of time and resources for our students’ success is so much appreciated.
