The class visited Westermeyer Industries in Bluffs today where Gary Westermeyer explained what they do and how he started the business. Westermeyer Industries is a pressure vessel manufacturer that produces parts for the commercial/industrial refrigeration and air conditioning markets. They also supply the marine industry with refrigeration parts.

Started in September of 2001 in Gary’s backyard with a small workshop and home office, Westermeyer Industries now has over 800 customers in fifteen different countries. Westermeyer has also shown tremendous grit and perseverance after suffering a devastating fire in August 2022, building back stronger than ever.

Gary had some great advice for the students. He told them that the customer is paramount in any business and the customer always comes first. He said you should never compromise your core values, no matter what the cost. And most importantly, failure is not an option. He gave them the equation “Good Idea+Good Timing = Success”.

Thank you to Westermeyer staff for their time today! We appreciate your knowledge...and the donuts and swag bags!
